Origins Review: Clear Improvement Mask

Origins is quickly becoming one of my favorite skincare brands.  Apart from their products working phenomenally on my skin, they're also free of parabens, mineral oils and animal ingredients.  When I use Origins I know I'm not exposing my skin to harmful chemicals and their philanthropic endeavors make me feel better about shelling out a pretty penny on their products.  This mask in particular is priced conservatively.

1.7 fl. oz. - $16
3.4 fl. oz. - $23

If you follow me on Instagram you might have already seen this hideous picture of me.  A friend of mine kindly told me I looked like Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder.  Thanks Sergio :)
I kindly won't tell him who he looks like.

Ok, ok...on with the review!

I have been using this mask for about 3 months now and I've noticed a dramatic change in my skin.  It's an active charcoal mask which means it does tingle a bit, nothing unbearable.

At first I thought it was making me breakout but quickly realized it was purging my skin.  After applying once a week for about a month, the breakouts gradually diminished.  I take about a quarter size amount on my finger tips and I spread, after applying a warm compress on my face.  This helps open up the pores and allows for the mask to do its work, avoiding the delicate eye area.  I leave it on for about 15 minutes and remove with a warm soaked cloth.  My face looks and feels squeaky clean after each use!

Do I recommend this mask?  100% to anyone who is looking for a mask that will clarify and clear out their pores.  I wear liquid foundation on a daily basis and I find the matte formulas (ideal for my oily skin) can really clog my pores.  Yes, it's a con but it keeps my oil production at bay throughout the day.

Has anyone used this mask before?  What are your thoughts?
