Coachella Fashion | Twenty Fourteen

Festival fashion, my favorite kind.  Unless you're living under a rock, you know this weekend we kicked off the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.  Split among two consecutive weekends, I look forward to which celebrities and favorite bloggers will attend but most importantly wear.

Bohemian style is my go-to.  The romantic lace, fringe, flowy fabrics, oversized accessories, hats and flower crowns, I die!

Below is a compilation of pictures that I adore from weekend #1.

Julianne is adorable here.  The neutral palette makes everything elegant while the shapes give it a modern feel.

Ummmm hello MILF!

Seriously, everything about this is perfection.  I tagged a friend in an Instagram picture of Kylie at Coachella, her response: "True Life: We are obsessed with a 16-year-old."  It's so true, we love you Kylie ha!

Hair chalk, always a good idea for added edge without committing.

Can I have her legs?  The Jenner girls are giving the Kardashian's a run for their money!

I love how daring Vanessa Hudgens is.  Her style is very quirky, boho – my nominee for Coachella Princess :)

What's your favorite look?  How do you dress for festivals?  Comfort over fashion?

Next year is the year, I'm going to Coachella!

10 Spring Beauty Products Vogue Says You Need

Oh Vogue, the audacious beauty and fashion voice in our heads that we succumb to each and every time we flip through your pages.  You’re good but so damn bad.

At the turn of each season, women find themselves looking to revamp their beauty routines.  The weather is getting nicer and we can start to feel it.  Yes you know the feeling I’m talking about, the one that goes nice with a cocktail in hand.

Drum roll…

1.  Shampoo and conditioner that prolongs time between washes.

2.  Face oil to help lock in moisture and keep dry skin at bay.

3.  A skin finisher.  Think more along the lines of a primer.  It helps smooth out the surface of your skin for a confidence boost on those no makeup days.  Try this one.

4.  An anti-fading shampoo.  Keep your locks looking bright and healthy.

5.  A light base that allows your skin to breathe as the days get warmer.  Cake face in the summer heat = nightmare!

6.  Change up your perfume.  Try something light and floral: Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana.

7.  An eye serum.  Keep your eye area hydrated and looking fresh at all times.

8.  Glitter!  Ok don’t get Mariah on us but yes, a modern version of it.

9.  A rinse-off self-tanner to get a sun kissed glow in a jiffy.  I swear by the Sally Hansen Water Resistant Airbrush Legs.  It's easy and very effective.

10.  Bright lipstick.  It’s quick, easy and packs a punch!

Fortunately for us, everything on this list makes complete sense :)

Happy shopping ladies!

Bronzer | How You Should Be Wearing It

Spring is here! Spring is here!  Spring is here! (Yes, I may have started my previous post in the same manner)  Out come the fake tans, bronzers and credit cards to pay for the not so cool tanning memberships.  Let’s all take a moment to reminisce tanorexic New Jersey woman, Patricia KrentcilI know, scary right?  I think it’s safe to say that we all know the repercussions of overexposure to the sun and the legal risks of forcing a 6-year-old into a tanning bed.  Thank you Patricia!

In the United States, where we glamorize a deep bronze glow, individuals lacking practice (in terms of at home tanning) can find themselves in a whole lot of trouble. *Tries to get image of Krentcil out of head*  Whether it be a fake tan or the less subdued bronzer application to the face, a tan is meant to enhance a summer glow and not cover a striking pale complexion.

The ever-so elegant makeup and beauty connoisseur Lisa Eldridge, has provided beauty enthusiasts with a step-by-step detailed video: HOW TO WEAR BRONZER BEAUTIFULLY – A FRESH AND NATURAL DAY LOOK.  It’s more complex than stopping by a makeup counter or drugstore and picking up a bronzer.  Take note ladies; consider the undertones in your skin.  Does your skin pull more pink, yellow or red?  Do you have a fair, light, medium or dark skin tone?  It gets complicated fast.

Eldridge’s expertise and thorough demonstration makes up no pun intended a bronzing for dummies video that’s easy to follow along and replicate.  Consider the amount of product you are applying.  Less is always more.  Building up your bronzer can help avoid the dreaded streaks on your cheeks, which for the record is never cute.  Oh yes, unless you’re going for clown chic.

So please, blend, blend and blend some more with those makeup brushes.  Strive for an effortless look minus the social disaster.  Looking fresh and natural is key.

A world renowned makeup artist to the stars, Lisa Eldridge’s work has been graced on the covers of Vogue, Glamour, Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Elle, Marie Claire and InStyle just to name a few.  Her clients include: Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley, Cara Delevingne, Alexa Chung, Rosie Hunington-Whiteley and Jessica Biel.
